How to uninstall an msi application from a commmand line

Found I needed this when I wanted to automatically deploy a newer
version of an application but needed to uninstall the existing version

The general syntax is MsiExec.exe /x {product id} /passive

To locate the product id open the registry and locate the following
registry key:

Right click on ’Uninstall’ and select ’Find’. Enter the name of your

application and click ’Find Next’
Once found, in the right hand pane locate the ’UninstallString’ entry
and copy the Value Data

At a command prompt type:

MsiExec.exe /x {09715083-BF10-4834-9E28-B5D8820513CA} /passive –
displays a progress bar
MsiExec.exe /x {09715083-BF10-4834-9E28-B5D8820513CA} /quiet – no display at all
